This Webinar will cover the basic types of business income coverages and the case law which supports coverage for Coronavirus claims.  In addition, there will be a discussion of some of the exclusions relied upon by the insurance industry to deny coverage, including the virus exclusion and how denials may be resisted.  Finally, there will be a discussion on the categories of damages, including loss of income, that a business closed as a result of the Cornoavirus may seek under its insurance coverage.


Presenter: Charles M. Miller, Esq.

Mr. Miller is a licensed attorney in California.  Since 1990, Mr. Miller’s practice has been devoted to insurance law, including the handling of claims presented under professional liability policies.  Prior to 1990, Mr. Miller was employed in the insurance industry for 18 years, where he worked as an insurance claims representative and claims manager.  During his time in the insurance industry, Mr. Miller handled and supervised the handling of many first party property claims, including claims presented for business income losses.  Mr. Miller has been retained in more than fifteen states and territories, including Canada, as an expert on insurance industry claims handling practices and standards and various insurance policy coverage issues, including many claims involving various types of first party property policies.  Mr. Miller can be reached at
