New Jersey Association for Justice
Jury Trials, Persuasion
Livestream from the New Jersey Boardwalk seminar.
The psychology of the courtroom involves more than just jurors. It involves public attitudes, media trends, political climate, case messengers and ourselves as attorneys.
Join nationally known jury consultant and author of both “Jury Trials Outside In: Leveraging Psychology from Discovery to Decision” and “The Witness Preparation Partner: A Guide to Becoming the Ready Messenger” for a three-hour seminar that takes us on a journey through the psychological issues that affect jury trials. Our tour starts with a broad look at political and community issues and guides us through the courtroom, ending with an introspective look at ourselves as lawyers.
What questions will be explored?
• How are young Millennials affecting the jury pool?
• What impact does the recent media focus on #metoo, political corruption and corporate scandal have on juror decision-making?
• What changes have been seen in the jury pool since the transition of political power in 2017?
• How do jurors define “fair?” • What are the pitfalls plaintiffs face with today’s jury?
• How must we account for the psychology of our own witness messengers at trial?
• Are we paying enough attention to our own psychology and the resulting peripheral messages we are sending?
This seminar will be streamed live over the internet so a reliable, high-speed internet connection is required to participate. Before registering, please check your internet connection at fast.com, to make sure the download speed on the computer you will be using is at least 5 mbps.
