Building the Economic Loss Claim for Women
Published by Ontario Trial Lawyers Association
and New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association

Too often a woman’s career goals and plans are dismissed by the defense as purely speculative simply because they have had children and are temporarily out of the workforce. In today’s economic climate that is false. Stephanie Greenwald of JK Economics and Siona Sullivan of Sullivan Injury Law will review economic trends such as the emergence of the two-income family as a necessity, changes in workforce participation and increased educational achievements for women. They will help you find creative ways to present compelling, admissible evidence to convince the court that there is a valid, realistic economic loss. The principles set out will apply equally to showing an economic loss for a minor. It’s not a science; it’s an art.
